The 51st IAFF Convention will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Important Dates
January 2012 - Convention Call
March 2012 - All per capita tax and EDF loans must be paid in full through March 2012 in order for credentials to be sent
April 2, 2012 - Mailing of Convention information, including credentials, hotel reservation information, etc. begins. Packets are sent to the Secretary-Treasurer and only sent to locals with up-to-date per capita tax payments
May 1, 2012 - Completed credentials must be received in order to be considered for Convention Committees
May 24, 2012 - Censure resolutions must be received by the General President (60 days prior to Convention)
June 2012 - All per capita and EDF loans must be paid through June 2012 to be seated at Convention
June 4, 2012 - All resolutions must be received by the General Secretary-Treasurer via mail, email or fax by 5:00 p.m. EDT (50 days prior to Convention). Any resolution received after this deadline will be returned to sender. Note: original, signed resolutions sent via email of fax must be received by June 13, 2012 or will not be considered
June 13, 2012 - Originals of resolutions received by email or fax must be received by the General Secretary-Treasurer (40 days prior to Convention
June 15, 2012 - Proxies and alternate proxies must be received by the General Secretary-Treasurer by 5:00 p.m. EDT or have a certified or registered U.S. or Canadian postmark by that deadline. Any proxy or alternate proxy received after this deadline will be returned. Note: express mail or other overnight mailed received after 5:00 p.m. EDT cannot be accepted
June 15, 2012 - Deadline for credentials for advanced registration to be received by the General Secretary-Treasurer. After this date, registration must be made at Convention. Advanced registration and payment is strongly encouraged to avoid long lines onsite
July 18, 2012 - IAFF Executive Board meeting
July 18, 2012 - Early Committees arrive (Credentials, Constitution & Bylaws, Policy & Resolutions Committees)
July 19, 2012 - Early Committee meetings begin
July 21, 2012 - Rules of Order, Legislative, Health & Safety and Sergeant-at-Arms Committees arrive
July 22, 2012 - All Convention Committee meetings begin
July 21-23, 2012 - Registration begins. Note: Per capita tax and EDF loan payments must be received for the month of June 2012 to seat delegates at Convention.
Registration Hours:
Saturday, July 21 12:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday, July 23 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Convention ID badges must be picked up by 5:00 p.m. to be seated at Convention.
July 23, 2012 - Opening Ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m.; General Session begins at 1:30 p.m. July 24, 2012 - FIREPAC Leadership Trust Reception (6:00-8:00 p.m.) July 26, 2012 - General President's Reception July 27, 2012 - Convention ends
